me and time is a private diary for watching your own face change over time — take a selfie now and then, and scrub back through the months. Everything stays on your device. Here's how to get help.

Why can I only import 30 photos at a time?

When you import, iOS prepares the whole selection at once — and if even one photo in a large batch can't be prepared, the entire import fails rather than part-succeeding. Keeping each batch to 30 makes imports far more dependable, and 30 comfortably covers a handpicked set of selfies. If you have more, just import in a few rounds — photos already in your journal are skipped automatically, so you'll never get duplicates.

My import failed, or some photos wouldn't load — why?

Almost always it's photos that live in iCloud rather than on the device itself. iOS can't hand those to the app until they've been downloaded, and in a large selection a single un-downloadable photo can fail the whole batch. If that happens, open those photos in the Photos app first so they download to the device, or import fewer at a time.

Why does the scrubber or autoplay take a moment to sharpen in a large library?

To keep scrubbing smooth, the app pre-loads every frame ahead of time only for collections of about 500 photos or fewer. Beyond that, it loads frames in a moving window around wherever you are, instead of all at once. That keeps large libraries fast and responsive — the small trade-off is a brief "warming up" the first time you reach a stretch: frames just ahead may take a beat to sharpen as you scrub or when autoplay starts. It catches up quickly.

How do I back up my journal?

Open Settings → Export encrypted backup. You'll set a passphrase and choose where to save the file. Keep the passphrase somewhere safe — it is not recoverable, and the backup can't be opened without it.

How do I restore on a new phone?

Install the app, open Settings → Restore from backup, pick your backup file, and enter its passphrase.

I paid for video export — how do I get it back after reinstalling?

Open Settings → Restore purchase (or tap Restore purchase on the export screen). It re-checks your Apple ID and unlocks export again at no charge.

Is my data private?

Yes. There are no accounts and no servers we run. Your photos and notes live only on your device and never leave it unless you export or save them yourself. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual photos inside the app, or delete the app from your device to remove everything it stored. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side copy to request removal of.
